The AMA concept was four years in the making. The courses and curriculum have been carefully thought out to provide the professional mariner, recreational boater, and those desiring a maritime career the best education possible.

We are approved by the US Coast Guard to conduct courses up to 200 Ton Masters and Apprentice Mate (Steersman). All of our courses are taught by USCG-certified instructors, with testing done right here at the Academy.

Our recreational and specialized courses are comprehensive and easily understood.

Our Portsmouth campus is located between Portland and Boston, and is easily accessible from Route 95 and Route 1.
