Our Instructors

Gerald K. Parker , J. D., is a graduate of Boston University and Suffolk Law School. He earned his USCG Captain's license during his 34 years of practicing law. As founder of AMA, Captain Parker has devoted much of his time over the past several years investigating and preparing to open the academy. He teaches corporations, business, maritime law and OUPV.

Fred Butler graduated from the US Merchant Marine Academy in 1998, and was the Asst. Fleet Safety Manager for Princess Cruises for 6+ years. In addition to instructing both professional as well as recreation courses at AMA, Fred is a Marine Patrol Officer on Lake Winnipesaukee on the weekends. He holds a USCG unlimited 3rd mate's license.

Clint Ramsden is AMA's professor of Marina Management. He is a graduate of the University of Rhode Island, and was the founder of Marina Bay in Ft. Lauderdale, FL. Mr. Ramsden is also a consultant to Bahia Mar and Pier 66, and has founded several recreational facilities in Rhode Island. He will be on campus several days per week to share his considerable experience.
